Nightmare 001

The small grocery felt cramped. It didn't help that it seemed that some of the aisles were blocked off. I went to some shelves to check if there was anything I liked, but eventually found none.

As I went out the doors, I was weirded out by the entrance/exit. What was what I remembered to be almost neat and tidy was just plain trashy and dirty. Dreams have a way of being I later realized when I woke up. Also, it was getting dark.

Funnier still was that I was supposed to know where I was, but right then I was lost. There were no lit lampposts and the people were getting scarce. One old lady passed by, and gave me the general direction of the public market when I asked. My eyes were squinting by then, straining to see in the looming darkness. I held my arms out to be sure that didn't bump into anyone, or maybe I was trying to feel my way around the darkness.

A group of kids started to laugh at me, and mimic me, barely seeing them flail their arms in mockery. I asked them whether they knew where the public market was. They only snickered and giggled, "We don't know." It freaked me out.

However, as I repeated the question and received the same answer, my subconscious realized that I was just dreaming. Adopting a boxing stance, a switch clicked in my mind and the POV switched to an isometric one. I glowed blue and started trying to punch the offenders in the dream. Nothing really connected as the dream kicked me out.

I never lucid dream.

I woke up with sleep paralysis.
